A Wedding at the Stockyards

March 22, 2013

While our Austin Intelligent Lighting Design team was busy with SXSW last Saturday, our Dallas team was busy lighting up a special couple’s country wedding the same exact day at the Stockyards Station (Fort Worth, Dallas). It wasn’t exactly a typical wedding either! They quickly realized that very few places other than the Stockyards will they see trains routinely passing by, choo chooing away in their ears, and have herding cattle nonchalantly trot through the venue while they work.

After the initial shock of a potential mini-stampede, the crew was able to get to work and arrange the perfect lighting for a rustic wedding. They set up dance and column lighting in a beautiful color wash of Tiffany blue with hints of amber, color changing stage lights, and a large gobo/monogram stencil with the couple’s initials, “J & R”, directly hitting the dance floor.

The rustic cowboy theme has been a recent Spring trend for weddings usually consisting of an outdoor venue, cowboy boots paired with bright dresses, wooden buildings, and livestock, perhaps, not too far off in the horizon – only confirming our motto that the possibilities truly are endless.
