Red Frog Events Shines Light on St. JudesJuly 25, 2014
We’re approaching that time of the year when we’ve begun planning with non-profits preparing to illuminate their Fall benefit events. The Fall, considered to be the time of giving, has us reflecting and highlighting on those who make a difference in our community and other places across the nation.
Red Frog Events, based out of Chicago, has inspired us with their partnership with St. Jude’s Research Hospital to raise funds in each of their events that they manage. They have a work mantra in creating experiences, driving change, and being whole-hearted.
RFE is known for their prominent entertainment events such as the Firefly Music Festival where attendees have the opportunity to donate to the cause. In addition, they host the nationwide Warrior Dash where runners fundraise and have all access to a VIP St. Jude’s tent.
In 2013, the events company committed to fundraising $25 million toward the opening of the “St. Jude Red Frog Events Proton Therapy Center” on the hospital’s campus in Memphis. Proton therapy is the most intricate form of radiation technology available to patients because it allows doctors to precisely target cancerous cells with high doses of radiation while sparing nearby healthy cells and vital organs located beyond the tumor. Proton therapy offers a great benefit for children with brain tumors and other cancers treated with radiation therapy, as it decreases harm to the child’s developing body and lessens the risk of secondary tumors later in life. It costs $1.9 million to run St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital a day and Red Frog Events is dedicated to illuminating life any way that they can.
To date, Red Frog has raised just under $10 million toward the center. We are inspired by their dedication to intertwine work with philanthropy. In what ways is your company making a difference? Send your responses to email@example.com. We’d love to know!
